Initial examination – Diagnosis

At FA DENTAL CLINIC we know that every smile is unique and we strive to cultivate the important relationship between the patient and the dentist. Regular dental check-ups are essential and when supplemented by a good daily oral health routine, the problems that arise in the teeth are kept to a minimum.

What does the exam include?

During your first visit, a complete history will be taken to gain a broad understanding of your individual needs. Your dentist may take x-rays of your teeth. An X-ray can be very important in diagnosing any issues that might otherwise go unnoticed.

At each check-up, the dentist will perform a comprehensive examination of the mouth, teeth and gums. He will examine the health of the soft tissues in your mouth (cheeks and tongue), check your gums for any signs of gum disease, and remove any plaque or tartar. In addition to cleaning teeth and analyzing oral health, the dentist will also screen for any other oral conditions and offer advice and guidance on ongoing dental care.

How often should I check?

Your dentist will tell you how often you should have your teeth checked as part of your oral care routine. This will depend on your individual needs. Some people schedule a dental checkup once or twice a year, while others, who may need or have undergone treatment, should visit more often. You will discuss the most suitable frequency for general checks and find a date and time that works for you.

Cost of Treatment

The cost of dental work depends on many parameters such as: the treatment plan, the severity of the treatment, the cost of the special materials that will be needed and the method of payment. All of the above will be assessed at the Diagnostic Appointment which includes a clinical and radiological examination.
